The service
TickWarden provides a one-time, AI-assisted photo identification report for $4.99. The report may include a likely species, confidence level, visible traits, alternate matches, and educational context. No account or subscription is included.
Identification limits
Photo identification is probabilistic and can be wrong, especially when a specimen is small, damaged, engorged, blurry, or photographed from an unhelpful angle. A report may say that the species is uncertain or that the subject is not a tick.
Not medical or veterinary advice
A photo cannot determine whether a tick carried or transmitted an infection. Do not use a report to diagnose, rule out disease, delay care, or choose treatment. Contact a qualified healthcare or veterinary professional for symptoms, exposure concerns, and treatment decisions.
Payments and failed reports
Stripe processes the one-time payment. If all available analysis providers and automatic retries fail before we produce a customer-viewable report, we automatically issue a full refund to the original payment method. Bank processing time varies. An uncertain, low-confidence, poor-photo, or not-a-tick result is a completed report and does not qualify as a technical-delivery failure.
Report links and retention
Your report link works without an account or password. Anyone with the link can view the report, so keep it private. Paid reports and photos are scheduled for deletion 30 days after upload, after which the link will no longer work. Unpaid uploads are scheduled for deletion 24 hours after upload.
No warranty
The service is provided “as is.” To the extent allowed by law, we do not guarantee that an identification is correct, complete, or suitable for a medical, veterinary, pest-control, or legal decision.
